Biographical / Historical

The collection includes 2,195 political cartoons published between 9 January 1884 and 27 October 1940. The cartoons detail the life and career of Theodore Roosevelt beginning when he was a New York State Assemblyman to the time of his death. The cartoons critique various moments of Roosevelt's career as a politician, natural historian and nature conservator, military veteran, Assistant Secretary of the Navy, and New York Police Commissioner.
