The following items have been transferred to the Schlesinger Library books and printed materials collection:


A graduate of Harvard University (A.B. 1978), Nancy Debra Levin helped to establish Harvard's first women's soccer team. In 1993, Levin started the Women's Sports Connection, a quarterly newspaper aimed at increasing the visibility of women's sports. Subsequently Levin wrote "Nancy Levin's Sports Beat," a section of BayInsider.com, a web site focusing on sports and recreation. She also was director of sports news for Pupulé Sports, a women's fitness web site.


This collection contains papers relating to Nancy Debra Levin's documentation of women in sports through subject files and audiotapes. Subject files contain correspondence, flyers, press releases, and notes about female athletes and national and international sporting events. Audiotapes of note are interviews conducted by Levin for various radio programs including "The Perspective" on KQED-FM, and "The Connection," in which she discussed her views on women's sports and female coaches. Folder titles are Nancy Debra Levin's. The material is arranged in alphabetical order.
