HISTORY

The Office of Public Information (former names: Publicity Office, 1925-1955; News Office, 1956-1965; News and Publications, 1966-1971; and Office of Publications, 1972-1983) was established to issue news and publicity releases about college events. Currently, the Office also manages the Radcliffe Quarterly, The Radcliffe News, The Radcliffe Guide and other college publications.

SCOPE AND CONTENT

Series 1. Correspondence and Papers, 1923-1959, arranged alphabetically in folders according to subject matter: 10 file boxes
Series 2. Unmounted clippings, 1928-1999, chronologically arranged, and within years, arranged by subject; 12 cartons and 11 file boxes.
Series 3. Releases, 1934-2000, arranged chronologically, includes texts of commencement speeches and baccalaureate sermons, 1934, 1938-1952, 1960/1961, 1980-1981. 7 cartons, 9 file boxes
Series 4. Scrapbooks (mounted clippings), 1926-1958; 58 vols, wrapped and labeled, each with a number: arranged chronologically and then by subject or geographically within subjects; 59 folio+ boxes
