Abstract: Audiotape and slideshow, "Images of Asian American Women, 1850s-1890s," presented by the Radcliffe Asian American Women's Group at the Radcliffe College Centennial Celebration in 1978.
In 1978, the Radcliffe Asian Women's Group was formed to increase awareness of Asian issues at Harvard-Radcliffe. The group was later called Radcliffe Asian American Women's Group, and in 1993 became the Association of Radcliffe Asian Americans. The group was connected with Harvard-Radcliffe Asian American Association. Activities of the group included workshops on Asian American history, identity, and stereotypes, dramatic productions, discussion groups, and an annual journal, "Of Woven Strands."
This collection contains the slideshow, "Images of Asian American Women, 1850-1980s," given by the Radcliffe Asian American Women's Group at the Radcliffe Centennial celebration in 1978. Included are slides about the cultural history of Asian American women and the Harvard-Radcliffe experience. Also included is an audio cassette which accompanies the slideshow, and a written transcript of the tape.
