Immediate Source of Acquisition:

These papers of Edith Alice (Stephenson) Garrison fill one folder of the Woman's Rights Collection, which was given to Radcliffe College in August 1943 and formed the nucleus of the Women's Archives, later the Schlesinger Library. The material in this folder was prepared for microfilming in February 1990 by Kim Brookes. It was microfilmed as part of a Schlesinger Library/University Publications of America project.

BIOGRAPHY

Edith Alice (Stephenson) Garrison was married to investment banker William Lloyd Garrison, Jr., grandson of abolitionist William Lloyd Garrison. Garrison was president of the Newton Equal Franchise Association, which may later have become the Newton Equal Suffrage League.

SCOPE AND CONTENT

Collection consists of list of contributors to William L. Garrison testimonial, 1867; correspondence, leaflets, postcards, and a clipping.
