BIOGRAPHY

Diana Mara Henry has worked as a free-lance photographer and as a teacher of photography in New York City since her graduation from Radcliffe College in 1969. This collection of her works consists of nearly 600 black and white photographs of women in the United States. The emphasis of the collection is on women in politics, particularly in campaigns, conventions, feminist demonstrations, and fund-raising events. Also included are photographs of actresses, women lawyers and journalists, fashion editors and models, children, teenagers, and senior citizens.

SCOPE AND CONTENT

This inventory is arranged in rough numerical order using the numbers and subject groupings assigned to the photographs by Diana Mara Henry. These numbers are to be used when ordering prints from the photographer. The wording in the subject headings and the captions is also that of Henry; the only changes made in preparing this inventory involved the addition of a few words, in brackets, to differentiate between two shots of the same scene. Diana Mara Henry's web site is being captured periodically as part of Harvard University Library's Web Archive Collection service (WAX); searchable archived versions of the web site will be available through this finding aid in 2010.
