Abstract: Mortality tables for graduates of Smith College (classes of 1879-1914) and Vassar College (1867-1910); tables drawn up for Wellesley College contain no data.
This collection consists of mortality tables for graduates of three women's colleges: Smith, Vassar, and Wellesley. The tables for Smith and Vassar appear in separate sequences, are entitled "Number of years of life exposed and number of deaths, in successive experience years...," and are arranged by year of graduation. For Smith College graduates, there are data from the classes of 1879-1914; for Vassar College, from the classes of 1867-1910; and there are tables summarizing the data for each school. The Wellesley tables were drawn up for the classes of 1900 and 1903-1905, but they contain no data.Three names appear in faint pencil on the back of several tables: D. Todd for Smith, classes of 1888 and 1893, and Vassar, class of 1901; A. Thomas for Vassar, class of 1896; and Catherine Tubridy for Vassar 1898.The original tables were destroyed after microfilming.
