HISTORY

The Consumers' League of Connecticut, established in 1902, sought to mobilize public opinion in support of improved conditions for workers.

ARRANGEMENT

The collection is arranged in three series:

SCOPE AND CONTENT

Records consist of minutes of annual meetings and reports of the Consumers' League of Connecticut 1908-1946, also minutes of meetings of the Hartford Consumers' League 1902-1919, and the New Haven League, 1907-1914; investigations into working conditions and legislation supported in the fields of labor, child labor, homework, minimum wage, etc. The Consumers' League worked to mobilize public opinion in behalf of enlightened standards for workers.
