HISTORY

Founded in 1981, the National Council for Research on Women is a national network of organizations representing the academic community, policymakers and others interested in women's issues. It seeks to bring institutional resources to bear on feminist research, policy analysis, and educational programs addressing legal, economic, and social inequities. To this end, it acts as a clearinghouse; conducts and promotes collaborative research on women in development, and race, class, and gender issues; and sponsors seminars.
