Eve Norman was coordinator of the National Organization for Women's Western Region, as well as national treasurer. She first joined NOW in 1969, was coordinator of the Los Angeles NOW Speakers Conference (1971), served on the original California State Planning Council at the first Western Regional Conference (1971), and was chair of the By-Laws Committee at the California State Conference (1972). She was elected NOW California State Coordinator in 1972.
Norman was appointed to the Los Angeles Mayor's Committee on Women's Rights, and to the California Attorney General's Task Force on Women's Rights, where she was sub-committee chair for Child Care and Development, and sub-committee chair for Women in Prison. She was a founding member and vice president of the Los Angeles Commission on Assaults Against Women, which was a coalition to solve the problem of rape.

The collection is arranged in three series:

This collection contains administrative and financial correspondence, printed materials, and budgets. It is divided into three series:
Series I, Writings by Norman (#1.1), contains one folder of writings on rape.
Series II, NOW Western Region (#1.2-2.13), contains information on NOW chapters in the Western Region, including correspondence, newsletters, and printed items. There are also minutes, correspondence, and printed materials concerning the 1976 Western Regional Conference. Papers are arranged with general Western Regional records first, followed by individual state files, alphabetically arranged.
Series III, NOW Treasurer (#2.14-3.9), contains budgets, financial correspondence, and a small amount of NOW National Board correspondence.
Folder headings are those of Norman unless otherwise noted; archivist's headings and notes are in square brackets. All printed material by or about Norman, as well as all printed material with annotations, has been kept in the collection. Other NOW publications and reports, except those created by Norman, were transferred to the NOW records in the Schlesinger Library. Non-NOW printed material produced by mainstream organizations and publications was discarded; leaflets and other ephemera of small, transient organizations were retained.
