Abstract: The Records Management Office (RMO), part of the Harvard University Archives, developed the General Records Schedule (GRS) and published it in 1997.  The GRS lists types of records found in University offices with guidance on their retention and destruction. This work was done as mandated by a vote of the President and Fellows of Harvard College.  These documents provide a record of the GRS's creation.
