Abstract: Jeffrey Robert Chapman, advertising executive, graduated from Harvard University (AB 1986), where he was a writer and issue editor for the Harvard Lampoon while studying forest ecology. The collection documents Jeffrey R. Chapman's affiliation with the Harvard Lampoon, a school humor magazine, and includes a Lampoon letterman jacket, original artwork for Lampoon magazine covers, and a Lampoon USA Today parody issue.

The Jeffrey Robert Chapman personal archive was donated to the Harvard University Archives by Jeffrey Robert Chapman.

    The Jeffrey Robert Chapman personal archive was processed in January 2018 by Dominic P. Grandinetti. Processing included rehousing the records into appropriate containers and the creation of this finding aid. Folder titles were supplied by the archivist.

    Biographical note

    Jeffrey Robert Chapman, advertising executive, graduated from Harvard University (AB 1986), where he was a writer and issue editor for the Harvard Lampoon while studying forest ecology. Chapman also received his MBA from Northwestern University (1990). Chapman spent over thirty years in the advertising industry.

    Scope and content

    The collection documents Jeffrey R. Chapman's affiliation with the Harvard Lampoon, a school humor magazine. The collection contains two original covers created by Chapman for the Lampoon, Tough Guys (1985 December), and Recreational Vehicles (1986 June). Also included is Chapman's Lampoon letterman jacket, a Lampoon USA Today parody issue which Chapman helped design, and an invitation to a birthday party thrown by the USA Today in New York City (1986 September) printed on an imitation record.
