Biographical / Historical

Joseph Husband (1885-1938; Harvard AB 1908) was a Horatio Nelson scholar, author, and playwright who served in the U.S. Navy during WWI.


Arranged as bound into volume. Mostly chronologically.

Scope and Contents

Contains materials concerning Husband's enlistment, transfers and discharge, etc... for service in the United States Navy, 1918-1919. Concerns the Naval Training Station, Great Lakes, Illinois; U. S. Naval Forces, France; various U. S. naval ships; with letters to him from members of the Navy Department, 1919-1922; and with photographs of naval vessels, including portraits of Husband. Also includes a typewritten copy of letter of presentation by the author to Robert P. Blake, of the Harvard Library, 1936.
