Scope and Contents

Collection includes cabinet photograph, card photograph, and un-mounted photograph samples from photographic studios in the United States, England, and Europe. Photographs are undated but most likely date from the 1860s to early 1900s and many include actors. Most photographs are copy print cabinet photographs. Each photograph is comprised of several different portraits. These samples were most likely used as advertising for the studios.
