Scope and Contents

Collection consists primarily of over 250 autograph manuscript letters from Mitford to Talfourd containing discussions of her literary and dramatic productions and other matters. Most letters were written from Three Mile Cross, England, and are signed by Mitford. There are also a few letters from others to Mitford including a Miss James and a Mrs. Hofland. Collection also includes a few of Mitford's autograph manuscript compositions, including a poem and a partial verse play about Cromwell. There is also a partial letter from Talfourd to a "Rachael".
