Biographical / Historical

Kahlil Gibran (1883-1931) was a Lebanese-American artist, poet and writer. He was a close friend of American poet and dramatist, Josephine Preston Peabody (1874-1922), who was the wife of the donor of these materials, Harvard Professor Lionel Simeon Marks.


Arranged alphabetically by title of drawing.

Scope and Contents

5 drawings of Josephine Preston Peabody and 1 of the head of Christ. All drawings are signed, some have Arabic text, medium is graphite or pastel (crayon), and some are pasted onto a paper mat.
