Biographical / Historical

John Wendell Mellen (1794-1829) was born in Massachusetts, the child of the Reverend John Mellen Jr (1752-1828; Harvard College AB 1770) and Martha Fitch Wendell Mellen. He received an AB from Harvard College class of 1819 and married E. B. Wilde in 1818. He was a lawyer in Portland, Maine.
