First Night Boston is a private, nonprofit organization founded in 1976 to produce Boston's annual New Year's Eve celebration as well as the Neighborhood Network, a community outreach and arts education program.

Scope and Contents

Collection includes correspondence, minutes, notebooks, clippings, flyers, posters, programs, tickets, buttons, maps, and business records, such as annual reports, financial statements, grant proposals, and contracts of First Night Boston. Topics concern administration, planning, fund-raising, advertising and public relations, community relations, sales, and volunteers. Also contains records relating to the Massachusetts Council on the Arts & Humanities, National Endowment for the Arts, Metropolitan Cultural Alliance, New England Foundation for the Arts, Russ Costa, and Zeren Earls.
