Biographical / Historical

Merrick was a British dramatist, actor, and novelist.

Scope and Contents

Includes manuscripts of several stories by Merrick and the final draft, with some odd draft sheets, of The mission of Miriam Lea, which was published in 1888 as Mr. Bazalgette's agent and was Merrick's first book. Also includes some revised proofs, two commonplace books, and a scrapbook of clippings of reviews of Merrick's books.
