Scope and Content

Consists of 62 items, including letters, notes, documents and other manuscripts (with typed transcripts) written mostly by famous French historical figures, especially royalty, such as Louis XVI. Also includes a few items from William Makepeace Thackeray and George Washington, including a letter from Washington to Sally Cary Fairfax.
