Consists of 179 letters from Adams to his niece Mabel Hooper La Farge, together with some letters to her sons Bancel La Farge Jr. and Henry Adams La Farge; copies of poems by Adams; and printed and manuscript material concerning Adams and the Adams memorial by St. Gaudens in Rock Creek Cemetery, Washington, D.C.
