Biographical / Historical

Viëtor was Kuno Francke Professor of German Art and Culture at Harvard University.

Scope and Contents

Mainly Viëtor's reading notes (in German) on various books of German philosophers and poets, accompanied by miscellaneous letters, 1944-1945, from colleagues at other American universities; clippings; and book reviews. These materials were removed from books in Viëtor's library. Also notebook for a German seminar taken by Viëtor in Frankfurt, 1916-1917.
