Cortes W. Cavanaugh was a literary scholar. Joseph Auslander, Ella Colter Johnston, and Audrey Wurdemann were American poets.

Includes one composition by Cavanaugh on George Eliot and Harriet Beecher Stowe, together with copies of correspondence of Eliot and Stowe, a collaborative memoriam by Auslander and Wurdemann for William Thomas Hildrup Howe, and a poem by Johnston.
