Biographical / Historical

Crane was an English illustrator, painter, and designer primarily known for his imaginative illustrations of children's books. He was also a political cartoonist and director of several English art schools.

Letters from Crane to various personal and business correspondents, including several to publisher John Lane and author Gleeson White, and magazine editors Hamilton Bell, Ross Sterling Turner, among others. Also includes several letters to unidentified correspondents.
