Biographical / Historical

Cairnie (1896-1973) was the proprietor of the Grolier Book Shop in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The shop, specializing in modern first editions and bibliography, was founded 1n 1927 by Adrian Gambet. Cairnie signed on a month after it was begun.

Consists of letters to Gordon Cairnie, mainly from poets, business records, and memorabilia. Business records of the Grolier Book Shop include account books, 1927-1966, tax forms, bank books, cancelled checks, and bills.
