Biographical / Historical

Honoré Mirabeau was a French politician and orator, a prominent figure in the National Assembly that governed France during the early phases of the French Revolution.

Scope and Contents

Contains autograph and facsimile manuscripts as well as letters by Mirabeau mounted on 239 leaves in a purple morocco gilt binding. Includes engravings throughout; genealogical notes; printed pamphlets about his illness, death, and entombment; inventories of his household belongings that were auctioned; and letters about his death mask.
