Speroni was an Italian philosopher and orator. He also founded the Academy of Animosi in Padua.

Includes letters to Speroni from authors and poets, including Celio Magno, Gregorio Montagnana, Vittorio Mussato, Paolo Ramusio, Bartolommeo Ricci, Giovanni Battista Rota, Leonardo Salviati, and Carlo Sigonio. Also includes a manuscript by Speroni in an unidentified hand of Contra la sobrieta a messer Luigi Cornaro, a Venetian author of treatises on temperate living.
