Abstract: Mid nineteenth-century American diaries created by J. Danly Budd at Fort Leavenworth and Fort Rice (Kansas).
Written at Fort Leavenworth and Fort Rice (Kansas), containing an account of the journey from Leavenworth to Rice and the interactions between the soldiers and the Indians. One volume is chiefly copied, with revisions from the other. Also contains Sioux (Dakota) Indian vocabulary, an account of a buffalo hunt, and autographs of some of his friends.
