Biographical / Historical

An American dramatist and lawyer, Rice won the Pulitzer Prize in 1929 for his play, Street scene. His plays often reflected the social and political issues of their day.


Arranged alphabetically by author.

Scope and Contents

Consists of letters to Rice from correspondents active in politics, theatre and literature. The collection was compiled by his widow, the former Barbara Marshall.
