Processing Information:

Processed by: Bonnie B. Salt.
The papers were originally deposited and accumulated over the years 1970-1983 in the Manuscripts and Archives Department of the Baker Library of the Harvard University Business School. It was at Baker that the original rough sorting and series and sub-series identification and temporary folder title list was prepared. In 1984, the collection was transferred to the Houghton Library where, during the academic year 1985-1986, the final processing, arranging and indexing were completed. All papers deposited between 1970 and 1986 have been grouped under one accessions number *84M-15. The original record groupings of the papers have been maintained wherever possible. Much of the very early and very late materials has been entirely rearranged. In the index an attempt has been made to note the major correspondents: most headings from folder lists have been indexed by name and some by corporation. Not every letter from a particular correspondent found in the index will be noted in the index listing. The entry might read: Smith, John, 1914- , (3445), . This indicates that John Smith's letters are so numerous in the files that not every letter is noted.
