Historical Note

Salinas (full name Pedro Salinas Serrano) was a Spanish poet and critic. He taught and lectured in Europe, U.S., and Latin America.

Organized into the following series:

Scope and Content

Contains correspondence, manuscripts, notes, memorabilia, and printed material pertaining to Salinas' literary, academic, and personal life. Correspondence consists of letters to and from Salinas, his wife Margarita Bonmatí [Salinas], their children, and others. The manuscripts of his poetry, theatrical, and prose works (some with annotations and revisions by Juan Augusto Marichal) are included in the collection in addition to Salinas' translations, lectures, articles, essays, and notes on the theater and various subjects. Also manuscripts and typed copies of compositions by other authors, including poems by Jorge Guillén. Memorabilia consists of photographs, playbills, and miscellaneous printed material, family documents, fiche, tapes, and other personal items.
