Quantity: 1 collection (One volume)
Abstract: Diary of Jonathan Pierpont (1665-1709), a Congregational minister who was born in Roxbury, Boston and was settled in Reading in 1689. The diary contains his handwritten entries from 1682-1708. A note written in 1709 indicates he died in that year.
Jonathan Pierpont was the son of Robert and Sarah Pierpont. He was born in Roxbury, Boston on June 10, 1665. He became a Congregational minister, and was settled in Reading (which later became part of Wakefield) in June, 1689. He died in June, 1709.
The diary contains Pierpont's handwritten entries from 1682 to 1708, and it describes Pierpont's daily activities as a minister, as well as some recollections from his childhood. The last entry in the diary by Pierpont is dated 1708, and then there is a notation that says "Rev. Jonathan Pierpont died 2 June 1709."
