Abstract: This collection contains more than eighty-five handwritten sermons that were bound together in four volumes. They are composed primarily by Massachusetts ministers during the eighteenth century. The collection also contains a bound volume of notes of sermons given by London ministers at a lecture series dating from June-July 1712.

Scope and Contents

This collection contains handwritten sermons that were bound together in four volumes. They were composed primarily by Massachusetts ministers during the eighteenth century. The collection consists of more than eighty-five sermons from approximately twenty ministers including multiple sermons by Thomas Prince (1687-1758; Harvard AB 1707) of Boston; Jonathan Bowman (1704-1775; Harvard AB 1724) of Dorchester; Ebenezer Morse (1718-1802; Harvard AB 1737) of Shrewsbury (now Boylston); Nathan Fiske (1733-1799; Harvard AB 1754) of Brookfield; Nathaniel Robbins (1726-1795; Harvard AB 1747) of Milton; and Edward Barnard (1720-1774; Harvard AB 1736) of Haverhill. The collection also contains a bound volume of notes of sermons given by London ministers at a lecture series dating from June-July 1712.
