Biographical / Historical

The Unitarian Universalist Ministers Association was formed in 1961 through the merger of the Unitarian Ministers Association and the Universalist Ministers Association. Serving members in the United States, Canada, and other countries, the UUMA offers continuing support and education to practicing and retired ministers. They hold conferences, workshops, seminars, and partner with other Unitarian Universalist organizations to continue their service to ministers. They are currently governed by a Board of Trustees, hold annual membership meetings, and are divided by chapters geographically. Their membership consists of fellowshipped and practicing Unitarian Universalist ministers, retired ministers in good standing, students who have attained candidate status, and honorary members. Their associate members are comprised of ordained ministers outside of the UUA.
