Biographical / Historical

The Massachusetts Congregational Charitable Society, founded in 1786, provides needs-based quarterly grants to the widows or daughters of Congregational ministers who served congregations in Massachusetts or Maine. Trustees represent the UUA and the Massachusetts Conference of the United Church of Christ, and grants are made to persons of UU and UCC affiliations.

Scope and Contents

The bulk of this collection consists of correspondence and financial material related to the Massachusetts Congregational Charitable Society. They are arranged chronologically. The collection also contains meeting reports, legal documents, and account records.
