Biographical / Historical

Franklin Pierce Smith (1908-1975) graduated from Wagoner College in 1931, Lutheran Seminary in 1934, and the University of Pennsylvania in 1936. He was ordained to the Lutheran ministry in 1937, and in 1950 he was ordained as a Unitarian minister at the Unitarian Church in Somerville, Massachusetts. While a Unitarian minister, he served parishes in Somerville and Haverhill, Massachusetts; Overland Park, Kansas; and Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Scope and Contents

This collection consists mainly of sermons, arranged chronologically. There are also other writings, including college papers and published and unpublished manuscripts. Worship materials such as prayers and meditations are also contained in the collection. Finally, there are biographical materials such as clippings, diaries, photographs, and correspondence.
