Abstract: This collection includes travel sketchbooks, professional drawings, correspondence and photographs by and about/of Herbert Langford Warren. It also includes watercolors for a Proposed Press at Harvard.
For a thorough examination of H.L. Warren's personal life see _Architecture and the Arts and Crafts Movement in Boston_ by Maureen Meister (Hanover: University Press of New England, c2003).
The collection is arranged in 10 series: Series A (Correspondence); Series B (Sketchbooks); Series C (Diaries, Travel Diary); Series D (Photographs); Series E (Architectural Drawings and Watercolors, Proposed Addition to Gore Library); Series F (Clippings); Series G (Writings); Series H (Image Collection); Series I (Cathedral of Noyon); Series J (Sculpture).
Includes travel sketchbooks, professional drawings, correspondence and photographs by and about Warren, and architectural renderings from the office of Smith & Warren. Although the bulk of the collection is the work of H.L. Warren there is also correspondence and a diary from the Warren family, primarily written by Winifred Warren.
