Scope and Contents

One volume of shipping papers containing letters, invoices, accounts current, valuations of foreign monies, and disbursements of the Ship Gibraltar. Samuel Leach was the master. The Gibraltar was at Batavia, Java, purchasing coffee for the owner in Boston, also glass for the N.E. Glass Company. An agreement in the book gives specific instructions as to the caroes to be bought at various ports and the return cargoes. The book also contains extracts from Horsburg's E. India Directory relating to islands in the Indian and South Atlantic Oceans.
