Processing Information:

Processed: August 2001
By: Maggie Hale

Processing Note:

The collection was processed as part of the Historical Collections manuscript photograph project in August 2001. The albums were previously gathered as a single collection based on their common subject matter, but the collection was left uncataloged. A photograph conservator examined the collection and then treated the three most severely deteriorated albums—the Mississippi River Power Company album, the Utah Power and Light Company album, and the Federal Light and Traction Company album. The bindings were removed and the photographs and pages were cleaned and placed in Mylar sleeves. New bindings were made for all three albums. The Mississippi River Power Company album and the Utah Power and Light Company album were both too large to rebind as a single volume. Both were divided into three parts that were then bound separately. Any information that appeared on the original binding was duplicated on the new binding.
