The New Bedford, Mass., whaling merchant firm of John and Hayden Coggeshall became Coggeshall and Russell in 1831 after the death of John Coggeshall.
The collection consists of five volumes detailing financial transactions of J. and H. Coggeshall and its successor, Coggeshall & Russell. The volumes date from 1809 to 1847.
