The Globe Fire and Marine Insurance Company was located in Boston, Massachusetts. Enoch Silsby was the president of the company until 1827, when he was succeeded by William Hales.
The collection consists of one volume of correspondence,relating to insurance on vessels and their cargoes, as well as insurance against the ordinary risks of fire. The remainder of the volume was used for the accounts of an Express Company in Dorchester, Massachusetts, 1856-1858.
